Our hope is to create a fun, enjoyable experience through reasonably playable and significantly different lane patterns, using multiple event formats, and managing event eligibility.  In our opinion, the Shootout will be more successful (as determined by number of entries) by ensuring as many bowlers as possible have an opportunity to succeed, and not have to compete against the Chris Barnes, Parker Bohns III, Norm Dukes, and Pete Webers of the bowling world.  We hope you'll agree.

The South Point Senior Shootout is made possible only through the generous sponsorship of event supporters.  Special THANKS to South Point Hotel, Casino, and Bowling Plaza as the Title Sponsor and Host Facility.  And we're tremendously appreciative of I Am Bowling as the Presenting Sponsor and USBC's BowlTV for live streaming.

The South Point Senior Shootout and Super Senior Shootout are locally organized and conducted multi-event bowling tournaments for competitors age 50 and over and 60 and over, respectively.  The tournament concepts and event formats were developed by a local Las Vegas committee comprised of Dick Baker, Bill Hewlett, Jeff Jamison, Dean Jones, Howie Loosbroock, Mike Monyak, and Ron Mohr.

Senior Shootout Goal

The goal of the South Point Senior Shootout is to bridge the gap between Senior Professional Bowlers Association events and the amateur-only "megabucks" tournaments.  Our purpose is not to determine who can grind out a 200 game on an extremely challenging lane pattern, or who can count on their years of professional experience to succeed in the clutch.  Nor are we trying to determine the "last man standing" in a grueling 50-plus game single tournament
